As purveyors of a vibrant culinary heritage, Chef-Patron Mandif Warokka and the crew at Liap Liap Ubud place their commitment on searching the far reaches of the Indonesian islands for its iconic culinary endeavours and flavours. The discovery has led to taking cues from the brave tribes of the region and embracing said roots in the showcasing of traditional, indigenous cooking styles. Combining exotic grilling and smoking techniques, the team proudly shares and delivers to you an archipelago-inspired cuisine like no other. Located on the famed Monkey Forest Road in Ubud, the project was conceived by exploring a dimension of design rooted in both tradition and culture.
The space gives nods to homegrown accents, tropical touchpoints, and preserved textural layers to provide a pleasant, airy vibe that sets itself as progressively uncategorised. Sustainability Assurance: Through a moderate application of reusable plate ware and utensils, the crew hopes to achieve a more honest and thoughtful approach to taking care of the natural surroundings. Chef Warokka's culinary repertoire includes Desert Palm, Dubai and Banyan Tree, Bali as well as guest appearances in Michelin-cast restaurants before an independent foray into two of Bali's leading establishments, Teatro Gastroteque and Blanco Par Mandif. Warokka stems inspiration from his colourful, eastern upbringing in Papua and Sulawesi. In exploring the freshest ingredients available in markets and local surroundings, his intentions highlight refined passion and craftsmanship to create bold, alluring presentation styles, sparing no effort in bringing the finest the seasons have to offer.
